how do i clean the filter on my honeywell hpa300? do i just vacuum it?

Your Honeywell HPA300 has two main filters: a washable pre-filter and a permanent True HEPA filter.

  1. Unplug the air purifier and let it cool down completely.
  2. Open the front grill to access the filters.
  3. Remove the pre-filter. You can clean this by gently vacuuming it with a brush attachment. For a deeper clean, you can rinse it with lukewarm water. Let it air dry completely before reinstalling.
  4. Behind the pre-filter is the True HEPA filter. Do not wash, rinse, or vacuum this filter. Using any liquid or a vacuum cleaner will damage it permanently. This filter is not designed to be cleaned.
  5. Once the pre-filter is completely dry, reinstall it, followed by the HEPA filter. Make sure both are seated flat and secure before closing the grill.

If the airflow still seems weak after cleaning the pre-filter, the True HEPA filter may need to be replaced. These filters have a limited lifespan. Regularly checking and maintaining the filters helps the unit run efficiently and prevents unnecessary strain on the motor.
