DIAGNOSIS Water spots, dust, and fingerprints on the clear plastic lens cover are diffusing the light and blurring the image.
FIX Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth designed for camera lenses or eyeglasses. Gently wipe the lens cover in a circular motion. For stubborn spots, dampen a corner of the cloth with distilled water, not tap water. Wipe gently, then immediately dry with the dry part of the cloth.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The haze might be condensation inside the housing, indicating a compromised seal. Check the rubber sealing ring around the rear battery/SD card door. Ensure it is seated properly and free of debris. Silica gel packets inside the housing can help absorb moisture.
HEADS UP Never use window cleaner, alcohol, or abrasive cloths on the lens cover. They will permanently damage the anti-reflective coating. Clean only when the camera is powered off and cool.
