You need to enable the skill and ensure both devices are on the same network.

  1. First, make sure your printer is connected to your home Wi-Fi and is online.
  2. On your phone or computer, open the Alexa app.
  3. Search for and enable the "Canon Ink Alert" skill.
  4. Link your Canon account when prompted. If you don't have one, you'll need to create it.
  5. Discover devices in the Alexa app. Your printer should appear.
  6. You can then ask Alexa, "Alexa, what's the ink level on my printer?"

If that didn't work, double-check that your printer model supports Alexa integration—the TR8620a does. Ensure your Alexa device and printer are connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, as some printers don't support 5GHz.

Heads up: This feature is specifically for ink level alerts. You cannot use Alexa to print documents or photos with this model.
