You're likely trying to attach a tool to the wand when it's still connected to the hose. You need to release the wand first.
- To attach a tool directly to the hose, open the cap on the handle and slide the wand upwards until both the wand and hose release from the machine.
- Press the button on the end of the hose. This releases the wand. Pull the wand out and set it aside.
- Now, fit your tool (like the stair tool or upholstery tool) firmly into the end of the hose. You should feel it click.
To go back to using the wand, just remove the tool, push the wand back into the end of the hose until it clicks, and slide the wand down into the hose. Close the wand end cap.
If the connection still feels loose, check for a blockage inside the hose or wand end that's preventing a full seat.
