how do you clean the filter on this thing? i can't find where it is.

DIAGNOSIS The main air filter is behind the front grille. It's a washable foam filter that gets clogged with dust, reducing airflow and cooling efficiency.

FIX Clean it monthly during use.

  • Turn the unit OFF and unplug it.
  • Grip the front grille at the sides and pull it straight forward to detach it.
  • The large rectangular gray foam filter is right behind it. Remove it.
  • Rinse it thoroughly under lukewarm water. Gently squeeze out dirt—don't wring or twist it.
  • Let it air dry COMPLETELY before reinstalling. Reattach the grille by aligning the tabs and pressing until it clicks.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If airflow still seems weak after cleaning, check the air intake on the back of the unit for obstruction (like furniture or curtains). Also, vacuum the rear condenser coil fins through the grill carefully to remove dust buildup.

HEADS UP Never run the unit without the filter. It protects the internal coil. A wet filter can cause mold and ice buildup on the coils. Ensure it's 100% dry.
