how do you clean the power base? something sticky spilled down into it around the locking ring.

— asked by Taylor

DIAGNOSIS Liquid or food residue is in the motor base cavity. This can cause sticking, poor connection, and motor damage.

FIX Unplug the base immediately. Turn it upside down over a sink. Gently tap to dislodge loose debris. Use a slightly damp cloth to wipe the stainless steel top and the plastic locking ring area. Do not immerse the base or run water into it. Use a cotton swab for crevices. Let it dry completely for 24 hours before use.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the residue is hardened, use a cloth with a small amount of mild dish soap. Wring it out completely. Wipe, then follow with a damp water-only cloth. Dry thoroughly.

HEADS UP Never submerge the power base. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the stainless steel. They will scratch it. Always ensure the cup is fully sealed before blending to prevent spills.
