The Brita LONGLAST+ filter (blue) must be replaced every 120 gallons or approximately 6 months for an average family. Filter performance is not certified after this point.
The 6-month/120-gallon guideline is based on contaminant reduction capacity, not taste alone. The filter change indicator tracks usage. Press the STATUS button for 1 second to check the current filter life status light.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If the indicator shows green but it's been over 6 months, your household water consumption may be below average. The indicator measures based on reservoir fills. For accuracy, always fill to the Max Fill line and open the lid only when filling.
HEADS UP: The indicator logic does not account for product misuse. You may need to change the filter more or less often than the indicator suggests based on your actual water consumption and quality.
