Diagnosis
This usually means the pitcher isn't fully locked into the motor base. The blender has a safety interlock that prevents the blades from spinning if it doesn't detect the pitcher is correctly seated.
How to Fix It
Turn it off and unplug it for a moment. 1) Remove the pitcher from the base. 2) Check the bottom of the pitcher for any plastic shipping protectors or stickers—remove them if present. 3) Align the pitcher's arrow with the "unlocked" symbol on the base. 4) Set it down and twist it firmly clockwise until you hear a distinct click and the arrow lines up with the "locked" symbol. The resistance should be solid.
If That Didn't Work
Look at the black plastic drive coupling on the bottom of the pitcher and the matching socket on the base. Ensure nothing is cracked or broken. If the pitcher clicks into place but still doesn't spin, the interlock sensor in the base might be faulty, and you'll need to contact support.
Heads Up
That humming is the motor trying to run but being blocked. Don't hold the button down for more than a few seconds in this state, as you can overheat the motor. Always ensure a solid click before blending.
