You're probably using too high a torque setting or not holding the tool correctly for the high reaction torque.
FIX:
- Adjust the torque ring: That ring behind the chuck with numbers (1-18) and a drill symbol. For driving screws, start at a lower number. The higher the number, the higher the torque. If it's set on the drill symbol or a high number, it will deliver maximum force and can kick hard. Turn the ring to a lower number and try again.
- Use the correct gear: For driving screws, use speed 1 (high torque, lower speed). Slide the gear switch (1) back for speed 1.
- Hold it firmly: Grip the insulated handle (6) with both hands if needed. Secure your workpiece with clamps.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Ensure you're using the correct screwdriver bit that fits the screw head perfectly. A worn or ill-fitting bit will cam out and cause sudden slips.
HEADS UP: High reaction torque is normal when driving or loosening screws. Always "start drilling at low speed" by squeezing the trigger gradually. This gives you more control and prevents the bit from bending or jumping.
