DIAGNOSIS: You put the filters back in while they were still damp. Even slightly wet filters block airflow completely, and the vacuum's safety might be reducing power to protect the motor from sucking in moisture.
FIX: Take both filters out immediately—the main foam and felt filter, and the smaller fine dust filter underneath the bin. Do not run the vacuum again. Let them air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat like a heater vent or sunlight. This takes a full 24 hours, no shortcuts. Patting them with a towel isn't enough; the inner layers stay wet.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If after 24+ hours of drying and reinstalling the filters, suction is still weak, you might have accidentally reinstalled them in the wrong order or orientation. The fine dust filter goes in first, flat against the base. The larger foam/felt filter sits on top of it, with the foam side facing down into the vacuum.
HEADS UP: Never, ever use soap or detergent on these filters. Rinse with cold water only until the water runs clear. Soap leaves a residue that can both block airflow and create odors the next time you vacuum.
