Diagnosis
This is typically an overheating safety cutoff. The motor or internal components are getting too hot from prolonged use or a partial jam.
How to Fix It
Let the device cool down for 10-15 minutes. Ensure you're not using it for more than 4-5 consecutive sections without a brief pause. Crucially, check for and remove any minor hair wrap from the spindle (even a few strands can cause drag and overheat the motor).
If That Didn't Work
A failing thermal fuse or motor brush inside the base can cause intermittent operation. This requires professional repair or replacement.
Heads Up
This often happens when trying to curl very thick, wet, or overly large sections of hair. The motor is small—respect its limits.
