Diagnosis
Door Error (dE or dE2). The control does not detect the door is properly closed and latched, so it will not unlock.
How to Fix It
For dE, ensure the door is fully closed. Pull it firmly until you hear a distinct click. For dE2, unplug the washer for 2 minutes to perform a hard reset. This often clears the sensor fault and allows the door to unlock.
If That Didn't Work
The door latch assembly may be faulty. emergency release is behind the lower kickplate. Unplug the machine. Remove the kickplate. Pull down sharply on the red cord to disengage the lock. This is for emergency access only.
Heads Up
Never force the door open. If the emergency release is used while the drum contains water, it will spill. Ensure the washer has completed draining first.
