just got my dh70w, it's running but no water is collecting in the bucket after hours

— asked by Alex

Quick answer: The unit is cooling air but not condensing enough moisture. The room may already be at or below your set humidity, or it’s too cold.

Diagnosis

The unit is cooling air but not condensing enough moisture. The room may already be at or below your set humidity, or it’s too cold.

How to Fix It

First, set the humidity level to ‘Continuous’ mode. Let it run for a full 24 hours. Check that the room temperature is above 65°F. Dehumidifiers need warm, moist air to work.

If That Didn't Work

If the room is warm and humid but still no water, the compressor may not be kicking on. Listen for a low hum and feel for warm air exhaust. No hum means a sealed system or start component failure. That’s a professional repair.

Heads Up

In a dry or cool space, it’s normal for this large unit to collect very little. It’s working as intended, not broken.
