Diagnosis
The float switch in the bucket well is stuck or the bucket isn’t seated perfectly level.
How to Fix It
Unplug the unit. Remove the bucket. Look inside the empty well. You’ll see a small white plastic float on a hinge. Move it up and down several times by hand. Feel for grit. Clean any debris. Reinsert the bucket firmly until you hear a solid click.
If That Didn't Work
If the float moves freely, the micro-switch it activates may be faulty. This requires disassembly to access the switch on the chassis. It’s a soldered component on the control board.
Heads Up
Always use the original bucket. Generic or other model buckets may not depress the float switch correctly, causing this false alert.
