The internal backup battery is dead or missing. Fix: Replace the CR2032 3V lithium coin cell battery located in the control panel compartment.
- Unplug the coffeemaker.
- Locate the small battery compartment cover on the back or underside of the unit.
- Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032, positive side facing up.
- Plug the unit back in. The clock should now retain the time during short power outages.
If the clock still resets, the battery contacts may be corroded. Clean them with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
Heads up: The clock must be set manually after replacing the battery. Use the "Hour" and "Min" buttons.
