The brew basket lid isn't closed all the way, triggering the auto-pause.
- First, confirm the brew basket is fully seated in the machine.
- Check that the brew basket lid is snapped completely shut. A small gap will cause it.
- If you're using a paper filter, ensure it's not overfilled and causing the lid to not close.
- During brewing, do not lift the brew basket lid. This pauses the cycle for 20 seconds and can cause erratic shut-off behavior.
If that didn't work: There is a 2-hour auto-off feature for safety. However, if it's shutting down in 10 minutes, the thermal fuse may be faulty due to overheating from a clogged water path or mineral buildup. Descale the machine.
Heads up: Always use the carafe under the brew basket during any operation. Running it without the carafe can cause overheating and premature shutdown.
