my brita longlast filter light is green but my water is tasting off, should i change it?

— asked by Jordan

Change it. The indicator is a guide, but your taste is the final judge.

  • The LONGLAST filter is rated for 120 gallons (about 6 months for an average family).
  • The green light means it's counting fills based on that 120-gallon capacity, but your water quality or usage might require a change sooner.
  • Filter performance is not certified after its rated life.

To reset properly with a new LONGLAST filter: install, press and hold STATUS for 6 seconds, release when the LONGLAST green light blinks three times.

For best ongoing results: always use cold tap water, pour water into the reservoir side (not onto the filter), and let water filter completely before pouring.
