my brita pitcher indicator light is blinking red, what does that mean?

— asked by Jamie

The red REPLACE light blinking means 0% of the filter life remains.

Replace the filter immediately. After installing the new one, reset the indicator. Press and hold the STATUS button. For a white standard filter, hold for 2 seconds. For a blue LONGLAST filter, hold for 6 seconds. Release when the correct green light blinks three times.

If the red light blinks right after a reset, you selected the wrong filter mode. Repeat the reset process for the correct filter type.

Heads up: The indicator measures fills, not time. Fill to the Max Fill line and only open the lid when adding water for an accurate reading.
