my canon pixma tr8620a won't scan multiple pages from the feeder, it just scans the first one. what am I doing wrong?

This usually happens because the Auto Document Feeder (ADF) mode isn't properly selected or the pages aren't loaded correctly.

Here's how to fix it:

1. First, make sure you're using the document feeder slot on top of the printer, not the flatbed glass.
2. On the printer's control panel or in your scanning software on the computer, look for a setting called 'Document Feeder' or 'ADF' and select it. Don't use the 'Flatbed' setting.
3. Fan your stack of pages and load them face-up into the feeder tray, aligning them against the guide. Don't overload it.
4. Start your scan job. The feeder should now pull each page through one at a time.

If that didn't work: Check if there's a paper jam in the feeder path. Also, ensure your scanning software is set to create one multi-page file (like a PDF), not individual files for each page.

Heads up: The feeder is for documents, not photos or thick cardstock. For those, use the flatbed.
