Diagnosis
The missing lines and streaks on your Canon PIXMA TS4320 are almost always caused by clogged or dried ink in the print head nozzles. This is a common issue with inkjet printers, especially if they haven't been used for a little while.
How to Fix It
Run the printer's built-in print head cleaning utility. Ensure the printer is on and idle.
- Press and firmly hold the Stop button (the red triangle).
- Watch the Alarm lamp (the orange light). Release the Stop button the instant the Alarm lamp flashes exactly two times.
- The Power (ON) lamp will flash green, indicating the cleaning is in progress. This takes about a minute. Do not power off or perform any other operation.
- Wait until the Power lamp stops flashing and remains steadily lit.
If That Didn't Work
If two cleaning cycles don't resolve it, a deeper cleaning may be needed. Check that your ink cartridges are not low or empty, as this can also cause poor printing. If the cartridges are fine, you can try a more powerful "Deep Cleaning" cycle from your computer. On a Windows PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your TS4320, choose "Manage," then "Printer maintenance" or "Cleaning." On a Mac, it's in System Settings > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and look for "Utility" or "Maintenance" options.
Heads Up
Avoid using third-party or refilled ink cartridges, as they can cause clogs more frequently. If multiple deep cleanings don't fix the streaks, the print head itself may need to be replaced, which is often a significant repair cost for this printer class.
