Yeah, the flashing Alarm lamp means an error. The specific flash pattern tells you what to do.
Two flashes means you should run standard print head cleaning. Three flashes means you need deep print head cleaning. Seven flashes is for cleaning the paper feed rollers. Eight flashes is for cleaning the inside bottom plate. Fourteen flashes prints a usage report.
Also check the two Ink lamps. If one is lit or flashing, that specific FINE cartridge is low or out.
