The bread is incorrectly positioned on the rack, or the rack is on the wrong guide.
- Confirm the wire rack is placed on position 3 or 4 for toast function.
- Arrange bread slices in a single layer on the rack. Do not stack slices.
- Center the slices left-to-right. Do not place slices directly against the oven door or back wall.
- Select the Toast function. Use the darkness selector (1-7) to adjust. Start with setting 4.
If that didn't work, the upper quartz heating element may have a performance issue. Test by using the Broil function on rack position 1 for 2 minutes. If the top element doesn't glow evenly, the unit requires service.
Heads up: For best results, use bread of uniform thickness. Thaw frozen bread completely before toasting.
