Diagnosis
Audible coil whine from the internal power supply or backlight inverter. This is a physical characteristic of some units, exacerbated by high brightness settings.
How to Fix It
First, adjust the monitor's brightness. Press the menu button, navigate to 'Brightness/Contrast', and reduce the Brightness setting. A setting below 70% often reduces or eliminates the noise. Second, ensure the monitor's power-saving features are enabled. In the OSD menu, go to 'Others' and verify 'Power Saver' is set to 'Standard'. This modulates power draw.
If That Didn't Work
The external power adapter may be the source of the buzz. Listen closely to the power brick. If the sound originates there, it indicates a component vibration. Isolate the brick from vibrating surfaces by placing it on a soft material.
Heads Up
Coil whine, while annoying, is typically not a sign of impending failure. However, if the buzz becomes a loud crackle or pop, it indicates a serious fault. Power off immediately and contact support.
