Diagnosis
The oven safety valve isn't opening. The igniter is working (it glows), but it hasn't drawn enough current to trigger the gas valve, likely because the igniter is weak.
How to Fix It
Replace the oven bake igniter. It's the most common failure.
1. Disconnect power at the breaker.
2. Remove the oven floor and the burner shield.
3. Unclip the old igniter from its bracket and disconnect the two wires.
4. Install the new igniter, reassemble, and restore power.
If That Didn't Work
Check the oven safety valve assembly for a fault. A multimeter test can confirm if it's receiving the signal from the igniter circuit but not opening.
Heads Up
The igniter is fragile. Don't touch the ceramic element with your fingers; handle it by the metal bracket. Oil from your skin can cause it to fail prematurely.
