Diagnosis
A clogged burner cap or port. Food debris or cleaning residue is blocking the gas flow from the small ports around the burner base.
How to Fix It
Clean the entire burner assembly for that specific burner.
1. Lift off the burner grate and cap.
2. Use a thin pin, needle, or compressed air to clear every tiny hole in the aluminum burner base.
3. Wash the burner cap in warm, soapy water, scrubbing the underside where the ports align.
4. Dry everything completely before reassembling.
If That Didn't Work
The issue could be internal. Check the orifice (the small brass piece the burner sits over) for a blockage. This requires removing the burner base, so ensure the gas is off.
Heads Up
Never use a toothpick or anything that can break off inside the port. A sewing needle or specific burner cleaning tool is best. Ensure the cap is seated perfectly flat or the flame will be uneven.
