Diagnosis
Low gas pressure to the broiler burner or a partially clogged burner port. The broiler burner is a long, thin tube at the top of the oven.
How to Fix It
Clean the broiler burner ports.
1. Remove the broiler pan and the burner cover (if present).
2. Visually inspect the length of the burner tube. Use a needle or stiff brush to clear any clogged ports along its surface.
3. Ensure the burner is seated correctly on its brackets and the gas line connection is snug.
If That Didn't Work
The broiler's gas orifice might be undersized or clogged. This requires checking the orifice size (should match 's spec for natural/LP gas) and cleaning it with the proper tool, not a random object that could widen it.
Heads Up
A broiler is designed for direct radiant heat, not convection. For best results, use the rack position recommended in (usually the top or second position) and preheat the broiler for 5 minutes. A clogged port can cause an uneven flame that cooks poorly.
