my kitchenaid k400 blender just stops after a couple minutes, even if i'm still blending, what's up with that?

The blender has an auto-stop safety feature.

DIAGNOSIS: You're running it on a variable speed setting for longer than 3 minutes. It's designed to stop automatically at that point.

FIX:

1. Press the stop button.
2. Unplug the blender.
3. Restart blending by turning the dial to your desired speed and pressing start.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If it's stopping much sooner than 3 minutes, or on a preset recipe program, the motor may be overheating. Let it cool completely before trying again.

HEADS UP: Always allow the blender to come to a complete stop before removing the lid or jar.
