my mr coffee bvmc-zh1b won't turn on at all, no lights, nothing. what's wrong?

— asked by Chris

Check the power source first. The unit must be plugged into a 120V AC outlet. Ensure the plug is fully seated. If there's still no power, the internal thermal fuse may have blown due to overheating. This requires a service call or replacement.

  1. Unplug the coffeemaker for 30 minutes to let it cool completely.
  2. Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet, not a power strip.

If that didn't work, inspect the power cord for damage. A frayed or pinched cord is a fire hazard. Stop use immediately and replace the unit.

Heads up: Never operate the coffeemaker without water in the reservoir. Running it dry will overheat and permanently damage it.
