Diagnosis
The folding handle on your Ninja UltraCrush Professional Blender's pitcher lid is designed with a safety interlock. It will not fold down unless the lid is correctly and fully seated onto the pitcher rim. This prevents the handle from being accidentally folded while the blender is in use, which could dislodge the lid.
How to Fix It
To fold the handle for storage, follow these steps:
- Ensure the pitcher is empty and clean.
- Place the lid onto the pitcher, aligning the pour spout and the tabs on the underside of the lid with the grooves on the pitcher's rim.
- Press down firmly on the center of the lid until you hear or feel a distinct click, confirming it is locked.
- With the lid securely attached, locate the small release button or lever on the base of the handle. Press and hold it.
- While holding the release, push the handle down towards the lid's surface until it lies flat and clicks into its storage position.
If That Didn't Work
If the handle still won't fold, check for obstructions. Food debris or dried liquid around the handle's hinge or the lid's locking mechanism can jam it. Carefully clean the hinge area with a soft brush and warm, soapy water. Also, inspect the plastic for any visible cracks or damage on the lid or handle that might be preventing proper movement. If damaged, the lid assembly will likely need replacement.
Heads Up
Never force the handle to fold, as this can break the plastic latch. Always ensure the lid is clicked onto the pitcher before attempting to fold the handle, both for safety and to prevent damage.
