Diagnosis
The "INSTALL" message on your Ninja UltraCrush Professional Blender's screen indicates the safety interlock system is engaged. The blender base does not detect that the pitcher is correctly installed and locked, so it prevents the motor from turning on to avoid an accident.
How to Fix It
To resolve this, you need to ensure the pitcher is fully seated and locked onto the motor base.
- Confirm the pitcher is empty and the lid is securely on.
- Place the pitcher assembly squarely onto the motor base, aligning the pitcher's drive socket with the base's drive stud.
- Firmly rotate the pitcher clockwise (to the right) until you hear and feel a distinct "click." The "INSTALL" message should disappear immediately.
- Press the Power button. The BlendSense® program lights should illuminate, indicating the unit is now ready for operation.
If That Didn't Work
If the message persists after a firm twist:
- Check for food debris or liquid on the bottom of the pitcher or around the base's locking ring and clean it thoroughly.
- Inspect the plastic tabs on the underside of the pitcher and the corresponding slots on the base for any damage or obstruction.
- Try the process again, applying more rotational pressure to ensure a full lock.
- Unplug the blender for 60 seconds, then plug it back into a different, working outlet to rule out a power or temporary electronic glitch.
Heads Up
Never force the pitcher onto the base if it does not align easily, as this can damage the drive system. The unit is designed not to operate unless fully locked, which is a critical safety feature.
