This is almost always the blade assembly gasket. Check the black silicone ring that sits in the lid of the blade assembly.
First, ensure the gasket is present and not cracked or warped. Second, confirm it's seated correctly in its groove—not twisted or pinched. Third, make sure the blade assembly is screwed onto the pitcher tightly by hand.
A missing, damaged, or misaligned gasket is the direct cause.
