Diagnosis
The blade assembly is likely stuck due to a vacuum seal created by residual liquid or food particles, or from sugary or starchy residues drying and acting like a glue on the plastic threads between the blade unit and the pitcher base.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the blender and ensure the pitcher is empty.
- Fill the pitcher with warm (not boiling) water up to the bottom of the blade assembly. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. This softens dried residue and can equalize pressure.
- Pour out the water. Firmly grip the pitcher base with one hand. With your other hand, use a dry, rubbery dish towel or jar opener for maximum grip on the blade assembly's black plastic housing.
- Turn the blade assembly counter-clockwise (lefty-loosey) with steady, firm pressure. Do not use excessive force that could crack the plastic.
If That Didn't Work
If warm water soaking fails, create a targeted cleaning solution. Mix a tablespoon of white vinegar or a drop of dish soap in a cup of warm water. Use a baster or small bottle to squirt this solution directly onto the visible threads from underneath the pitcher. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then attempt to unscrew again with a dry towel for grip. As a last resort, you can carefully try gripping the stainless steel blade shaft (not the blades themselves) with a pair of rubber-coated pliers while holding the pitcher steady, but pad the metal with cloth to prevent scratches.

Never use excessive force, metal tools directly on the plastic, or boiling water, as this can warp or crack the pitcher base. Always ensure the unit is unplugged before attempting removal to prevent any accidental activation.
