Fix:
- First, check the simple stuff. Make sure the brush roll switch is in the "On" position for carpets.
- Unplug the vacuum and flip it over. Manually spin the brush roll with your hand. If it doesn't turn freely, there's a blockage. Remove any hair, string, or debris wrapped around the ends or the roll itself.
- While it's flipped, check that the belt is intact and correctly seated on the motor pulley and brush roll. A broken or slipped belt won't drive the brush.
If that didn't work: If the brush roll spins freely by hand and the belt looks good, the drive mechanism inside the nozzle might be faulty, or the electrical connection for the brush roll switch might be loose. This would require checking internal connections or service.
Heads up: Regularly cut away hair and string wrapped around the brush roll ends to prevent belt wear and motor strain.
