This is usually a simple fix. First, check that the brushroll isn't jammed.
- Unplug the vacuum and turn it over.
- Manually try to turn the brushroll. If it doesn't move freely, you've got a clog.
- Use scissors to carefully cut and remove any hair, string, or fibers wound around the ends of the brushroll. Pull out any debris caught in the suction path.
- Once it spins freely by hand, plug it back in and test it on the floor setting.
If that didn't work: Make sure you're using the correct setting. The brushroll only spins when the vacuum is in the 'Carpet' mode, not the 'Hard Floor' or 'Bare Floor' setting. There's usually a lever or button on the foot of the vacuum to switch between modes.
