my shark vacuum won’t turn on at all, no lights, no sound. checked the outlet.

DIAGNOSIS No power is reaching the motor. This is almost always the thermal cutoff switch has tripped due to a clog or overheating.

FIX Unplug the vacuum. Let it sit for 45-60 minutes to cool completely. While it cools, perform a full clog check: hose, pod, brushroll chamber. Clear any blockages. After the cool-down, plug it in and try again.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The power switch itself can fail. It's a known weak point. You’ll need to replace the switch assembly. It's located on the handle.

HEADS UP If the thermal cutoff trips repeatedly, you have a recurring clog or a failing motor. Address the airflow issue immediately or you’ll need a new motor.
