DIAGNOSIS A new motor or electronic component burning off manufacturing oils. This should be brief. A persistent smell indicates a problem.
FIX For a new unit, run a break-in cycle. Fill the container with 32 oz of warm water and a small amount of dish soap. Secure the lid. Run the blender on Variable Speed 10 (High) for 2 full minutes. This should dissipate any odors from new components. Ventilate the area. The smell should not return after this procedure.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the smell persists or recurs, you are likely overloading the motor. Stop immediately. Ensure you are not blending for extended periods at top speed with very thick mixtures (like nut butters). For heavy tasks, use programmed cycles which manage thermal load, or pulse in short bursts to allow the motor to cool.
HEADS UP A sharp, acrid burning smell is a critical warning. Unplug the blender immediately. This could indicate a failing motor bearing or electrical fault. Do not use it again until serviced.
