Diagnosis
The ice sensor arm (the little plastic lever inside) is either stuck, bent, or iced over. It's not sensing the full basket, so the machine thinks it needs to keep producing.
How to Fix It
Unplug the unit. Remove the ice basket. Locate the plastic sensor arm hanging down near the evaporator. Manually move it up and down a few times to ensure it's not stuck. Check for ice buildup around its pivot point—if there is any, let it melt or gently clear it. This almost always solves it.
If That Didn't Work
The sensor arm might be physically bent out of position and not traveling its full range. Visually inspect it—it should hang freely. If bent, very carefully bend it back to its original position so it makes proper contact with the ice pile.
Heads Up
This is a common issue if you don't regularly empty the basket. Letting ice pile up against the sensor for days can cause it to freeze in place. Make emptying the basket part of your daily shutdown routine.
