Diagnosis
The oven igniter is clicking but weak or the gas valve isn't opening. The most common cause is a worn-out oven igniter; they lose spark strength over time.
How to Fix It
First, check the oven igniter.
1. Turn off the gas and electrical power to the range at the breaker.
2. Remove the oven floor and the burner cover to access the igniter at the back of the oven.
3. Visually inspect the igniter for cracks or damage. If it glows dim red or not at all when you try to light the oven (with power back on), it needs replacement.
4. Order a direct replacement igniter (WPW10532497 is common for this model) and swap it out.
If That Didn't Work
The safety gas valve could be faulty and not opening even with a good spark. This requires a multimeter test and is a pro repair.
Heads Up
Never bypass or manually light the oven burner. If gas accumulates without proper ignition, it's a severe safety hazard.
