Diagnosis
A spark module is stuck sending voltage to a spark electrode. Usually, a faulty spark module or a cracked/spark electrode shorting to the burner cap.
How to Fix It
Identify which burner is the source by listening closely. Then:
1. Lift off the burner grate, cap, and base for that burner.
2. Check the electrode (the small metal pin next to the gas port) for cracks or food debris bridging it to the burner base. Clean it thoroughly with a dry toothbrush.
3. Ensure the burner cap is seated perfectly straight. A misaligned cap can cause the clicking.
If That Didn't Work
The spark module itself is likely faulty and needs replacement. It's located under the cooktop. This requires disassembly.
Heads Up
The constant clicking drains the spark module. Unplug the range or turn off its breaker until you fix it to prevent further component wear.
