This is most often caused by a "stale" DHCP lease from your router, where the router has assigned a new IP address that the opener hasn't acknowledged, or a signal drop caused by interference from the metal garage door itself. Another common root cause is a 2.4GHz vs 5GHz band steering conflict. The Legacy 920 requires a dedicated 2.4GHz frequency to maintain a stable connection. If your router recently updated to a "Smart Connect" or "Unified SSID" mode, the opener may be attempting to connect to the 5GHz band, which it cannot support, resulting in a persistent offline status despite appearing to be connected to the network.
How to Fix It
To restore the connection, you must perform a hard power cycle and a network refresh to clear the cache on both the opener's logic board and your router.
