The fix: It must be the only appliance plugged into an outlet on a 15-amp circuit breaker. A 10-amp breaker will trip every time. Find a different outlet in your kitchen that's on a dedicated 15-amp circuit and plug it in there alone.
If that didn't work: The circuit itself might be overloaded with other lights or appliances on the same line, even if they're in different outlets. Try a bathroom or laundry room outlet on a 15-amp circuit as a test.
