Diagnosis
The grinding noise from your OVENTE corded hand blender is typically caused by one of two mechanical issues. First, the stainless steel blending shaft may not be fully and securely locked onto the motor unit, causing internal gears to misalign and grind. Second, if the appliance is used in a container with insufficient liquid (like a near-empty pot of soup) or at too high a speed, the blades can cavitate and strike the container's bottom, creating a metallic grinding sound.
How to Fix It
Unplug the blender immediately. Firmly grasp the blending shaft and press the release button (if present) to detach it from the motor body. Inspect the coupling area for any food debris and wipe it clean. Reattach the shaft by aligning the grooves and pushing it straight onto the motor unit until you hear and feel a definitive click, ensuring it is locked. For blending soups, always ensure the blades are fully submerged in liquid and start on the lowest speed setting before gradually increasing.
If That Didn't Work
If the noise persists after a secure reattachment and with proper technique, the internal gears may be damaged. Inspect the plastic gear inside the shaft's coupling for stripped or broken teeth. A damaged gear requires replacement; contact OVENTE customer support for a replacement blending shaft. Alternatively, if the noise is a high-pitched whirring, the motor bearings may be failing, which would necessitate professional repair or unit replacement.

Never operate the hand blender in an empty container or with less than one cup of liquid, as this can permanently damage the blade assembly and motor. Avoid using it to crush ice or blend extremely hard ingredients, as this exceeds its design limits and can cause immediate failure.
