Set it to 'Off'. Then, go to 'B.I.+'. Set it to 'Off'. Manually set your preferred brightness in the Picture menu. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Ensure your room lighting is consistent. A flickering overhead light or a window with shifting sun can trigger the sensor. Cover the sensor (small circle on bottom bezel) with opaque tape as a test. HEADS UP These features are for power saving and eye comfort. Turning them off gives you full manual control. You may see higher power consumption.

screen has a weird yellow or red tint, colors look off after i moved it.

Then, go to 'Color Weakness'. Set it to 'Off'. Finally, go to 'Picture Mode'. Set it to 'Standard' or 'sRGB'. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The monitor may have been bumped hard. Go to Picture > Reset Color. This resets all color settings to factory defaults. HEADS UP Moving the monitor can sometimes trigger the front control button by mistake. Check all your picture settings after any physical move.

the built-in speakers sound terrible, super tinny and quiet.

DIAGNOSIS The monitor has 2W x 2 speakers. They are for basic system sounds only. They lack bass and volume. FIX Do not use them for media. Get external speakers or headphones. To disable them, press the menu button. Go to System > Audio > Volume. Set it to 0. Or, in your OS sound settings, select a different output device. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If sound is crackling, check your audio cable. The monitor gets audio via the HDMI or DisplayPort cable from your source. Ensure that cable is firmly connected at both ends. HEADS UP You cannot adjust treble/bass on the monitor. The audio quality is a hardware limitation of the small drivers. Use externals.

usb-c connection from my macbook isn't working, no signal.

DIAGNOSIS The EW3270U does NOT have USB-C video input. It has a USB-C port for service only. FIX You must use a physical video cable. Connect your MacBook to the monitor's HDMI or DisplayPort input using the correct adapter for your Mac (USB-C to HDMI or USB-C to DisplayPort). IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Ensure you're using the correct source input. Press the monitor's 'Source' button. Select 'HDMI' or 'DisplayPort'. The USB-C port will never show as a source. HEADS UP Many users confuse the USB-C port for video. It is not. Read the port labels on the back. Use HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or DisplayPort.

there's a high pitched whining noise coming from the back of the monitor.

DIAGNOSIS Coil whine from the power supply components. Common under high brightness/contrast loads. FIX Reduce the monitor's brightness and contrast. Press the menu button. Go to Picture > Brightness and Contrast. Lower both by 10-15 points. The noise should diminish or stop. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Disable any dynamic contrast features. Go to Picture > Advanced > Dynamic Contrast. Set it to Off. Also disable Brightness Stabilizer. HEADS UP Coil whine is not a defect that affects lifespan. It is an acoustic resonance. If it's loud at normal settings, contact BenQ support. The power supply may be faulty.

hdr mode looks washed out and grey on my pc, not bright like it should.

DIAGNOSIS Windows is not sending a proper HDR signal, or the monitor's HDR mode isn't fully engaged. FIX On Windows 10/11, press Win+Alt+B to toggle HDR. Or go to Settings > System > Display > Use HDR. Turn it ON. On the monitor, press the menu button. Go to Picture > HDR. Set it to 'HDR' or 'Auto'. Not 'Game HDR'. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your content/game must support HDR. Also, check your graphics card settings. For NVIDIA, open NVIDIA Control Panel. Under 'Adjust desktop color settings', set Output color format to RGB with 8-bit or 10-bit color. HEADS UP This monitor's peak brightness is 300 nits. HDR effect is subtle, not like a high-end TV. Expect enhancement, not a blinding sun.

my benq ew3270u won't turn on at all, no light, nothing. power cable is plugged in.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The power brick is integrated into the monitor. You need a qualified tech to replace the power supply board. Do not open the monitor yourself.
