No. The system is not designed for hot water. The operating water temperature range is 40–100 °F (4–37 °C). Connecting it to a hot water line will damage the filters and membrane. The RO process is slightly faster with warmer source water within that range. If you need more speed, ensure your cold water pressure is at least 45 PSI. Higher pressure within the 45-70 PSI range also increases production rate. If your incoming cold water pressure is below 45 PSI, you must install a booster pump. That's the correct fix for slow production, not using hot water.

Check all tubing connections, especially around the membrane housing and the final stages. An incorrect hookup can let untreated water through. Test the TDS of your tap water and the RO water. You should see a reduction of at least 90%. If the numbers are nearly identical, the membrane is not working. If you get some reduction but not 90% or more, the automatic shut-off valve could be faulty or the membrane itself is defective. If the membrane is missing, install it. That's almost always because the tube isn't seated all the way into the quick-connect fitting. You need to create a seal past the internal O-ring. First, remove the blue lock clip from the fitting with your nail. Check if the tube has a clean, square cut. If it's ragged, trim it with scissors or a utility knife. Mark 5/8" from the end of the tube. This is your insertion depth target. Push the tube into the fitting until you feel resistance at the O-ring. You'll need to wiggle it and apply firm pressure to push past it. Keep going until your 5/8" mark is at the fitting's edge. Once it's fully in, pop the blue lock clip back on to lock it. If it still leaks after that, the O-ring inside the fitting might be damaged or kinked. Unscrew that elbow fitting and replace it with one of the spares included in the kit. Wrap the threads of the new fitting with Teflon tape before screwing it back in. Check for leaks daily for the first two weeks and use the included flood alarm.

If it stopped flowing, the valves are fine and the issue was low pressure. If it's still flowing, either the automatic shut-off valve or the check valve is defective. To pinpoint which one, open everything back up and let the tank fill at least partially. Close the feed water adapter valve to cut off the supply. Leave the tank valve open. Wait 15-30 minutes, then check the tank weight. If it emptied, the check valve is faulty. If a valve is defective, contact iSpring customer support for a replacement.
