ispring rcc7ak-bn tank valve connection is dripping, i used teflon tape, what now?

— asked by Maria

Diagnosis: Insufficient Teflon tape or improper application on the tank valve threads.

  1. Shut off the feed water to the system and drain the storage tank.
  2. Unscrew the tank shut-off valve.
  3. Apply new Teflon tape. Requirement: 10-15 wraps clockwise around the metal tank threads.
  4. Re-screw the tank valve clockwise and hand-tighten. Do not over-tighten with tools.
  5. Reconnect the yellow tubing to the valve's quick-connect fitting, ensuring a full 5/8" insertion.
  6. Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.

If the leak persists after applying the correct amount of tape, the valve or tank threads may be defective. Contact iSpring customer support for an immediate replacement.
