roomba i3+ evo light ring is solid red and it won't start cleaning, what does that mean?

— asked by Alex

A solid red light ring means the robot's bin is full and needs to be emptied. It won't start a new job until you do.

  1. Press the bin release button on the top of the robot and remove the dust bin.
  2. Open the bin door and tap the filter against your trash container to empty it.
  3. Before reinserting, check the full bin sensors inside the robot and on the bin door. Wipe them with a clean, dry cloth. Buildup here can trigger a false full signal.
  4. Make sure the filter is correctly installed with the ridged grips facing out. The robot will not run if the filter is missing or in wrong.
  5. Place the bin back into the robot until it clicks.

If that didn't work: The charging contacts on the robot or the Home Base might be dirty, preventing a proper connection and causing a power issue. Wipe both the robot's and the Home Base's charging contacts with a clean, dry cloth or a melamine foam pad to remove debris.

Heads up: Do not wash the filter. Remove it before rinsing the bin with warm water, and make sure the bin is completely dry before reassembly.
