DIAGNOSIS Failure in the handshake between the grill's Wi-Fi module and your home network. The setup process is highly sensitive to signal strength and network configuration.
FIX Follow this checklist precisely. Move the grill within 10 feet of your router. Temporarily disable your mobile device's cellular data. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The network cannot be a 5 GHz band or a mesh system with same-name SSIDs. Complete the app setup at this close range.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Perform a factory reset on the grill's Wi-Fi module. With the grill on, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the controller for 5-10 seconds until the light blinks rapidly. This clears the configuration. Re-attempt setup from the beginning.
HEADS UP The Ranger's Wi-Fi module has limited range. Permanent installation far from the router may require a Wi-Fi extender. The module does not support WPA3 enterprise or captive portal networks.
