DIAGNOSIS Fine dust and debris are caking inside the clear bin and around the inner cyclone shroud, preventing the emptying mechanism from clearing everything out.
FIX You need to manually clear the cyclone, not just the bin.
- Hold the vacuum over a trash can and push the red bin release lever to open the bottom.
- While the bin is open, use your finger (or a soft brush) to wipe around the inner metal cyclone shroud inside the bin to dislodge compacted dust.
- Also, tap the bin firmly against the inside of the trash can to shake loose fine particles.
- For a deep clean, detach the entire bin and cyclone assembly and rinse it with water. Let it dry completely before reattaching.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK A more severe internal blockage might be in the duct between the bin and the filter. Detach the bin and look through the opening on the main body for any visible clogs. Use a long, flexible object (like a pipe cleaner) to gently clear it.
HEADS UP Never use compressed air to try and clear the cyclone from the outside—you can force dirt deeper into seals. And never submerge the main vacuum body with the motor in water.
