DIAGNOSIS The wall dock is too heavy for standard drywall anchors (or no anchors) to support. Drywall alone cannot hold the weight of the vacuum, especially when removing it.
FIX Remount it properly into a wall stud.
- Take the dock off the wall.
- Use a stud finder to locate a wooden wall stud behind your drywall.
- Reposition the dock template so at least one, preferably two, of its screw holes align directly over the stud.
- Drive the provided screws directly into the solid wood stud. Do not use the plastic drywall anchors if you're hitting a stud.
- For the remaining holes that don't hit a stud, use high-weight drywall anchors rated for at least 50 lbs each.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If you absolutely cannot hit a stud, you must use professional-grade toggle bolt anchors designed for heavy loads in drywall. The cheap plastic anchors included are often insufficient.
HEADS UP When you pull the vacuum off the dock, always use a straight pulling motion. Yanking it sideways creates massive leverage and is the #1 reason mounted docks rip out of the wall, even if installed correctly.
