the clock on my mr coffee bvmc-zh1b keeps resetting to 12:00 every time i unplug it, is the battery dead?

There is no backup battery. It's designed to reset when power is lost. You have to reset the time each time you plug it in.

1. Plug the unit in. The display will flash "12:00".
2. Press and hold the "Hour" button until the correct hour number appears.
3. Press and hold the "Minute" button until the correct minute number appears.
4. The clock will stop flashing and hold the time once you release the buttons.

If that didn't work: If the clock won't accept input from the buttons, the control panel may be faulty. Try unplugging for a full minute and repeating the process.

Heads up: If you want the clock to persist, you need to leave the coffee maker plugged into a live outlet at all times, even when not in use. Using a switched outlet will cause it to reset whenever the switch is turned off.
